This Is Wonderland
Via [info]spacing, an interesting article on Toronto's street food -- why it's basically limited to hot dogs, and how that might change.

Hiho,

I'd gladly trade all the steet meat on Yonge Street for a Lafleurs or evena Belle Province. Mmmm.... Steamies.... Michigans... Poutine Italienne...

Cu,
Andrew

That is true.
Last time I had a poutine in the T.dot it had bar-b-q sauce and pieces of orange cheddar in it. *gags*

True, and I do love it.

But yeah, steamies and good poutine would be awfully nice to have...

I would send one to you, but they look gross enough when they are fresh, I can only imagine how nasty they'll look after Canada Post gets through with them.

Hiho,

It's funny that they claim it's provincial - why then does Ottawa have chip trucks selling burgers and fries all over the place? Come to think of it - why does Front Street?

Cu,
Andrew

They explained that. A truck counts as being indoors. A wagon is not, and hence vulnerable to regulation.

Hiho,

Oh brother.

We should be able to sell Street Souvlakis from a tent then. :)

Cu,
Andrew

so brave, I still maintain. I'd have been sick for days, knowing me. Instead I was just hungry for a couple of hours ;) (food was really my waterloo that trip, wasn't it?)
