books ohi
So, question.

Random check of one of the citations reveals typos in two authors' names and the journal title.

Does this mean I have to check them ALL? Because, please no.

um... ducks. that depends. DO you want it done right? Or does it really matter?

Cuz my thinking is yes, probably you do need to check.

there are 22 PAGES! *sob* I don't even know where they're all indexed! I certainly don't have hard copies.

well, I'm not doing it tonight, that's for damn sure.

well, NO, not TONIGHT

but make a note that you think it needs to be done.... Can you ask the reviewers what they think?

and {hugs} and Bon Voyage! May lady luck smile on you!!

you are right, I will do both those things.

Somehow it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't ALSO have to check for all the damn commas and periods and ampersands and italics and Stuff. A few have obviously been imperfectly copied and pasted over from something in ICMJE style, so I have to put the damn periods and ampersands IN.

*sigh*

Unfortunately, you probably do. Chances are if they've flubbed one citation, they've flubbed others, too.

*sigh*

That's what I thought. Damn. And have I mentioned that I haaaaate APA style with a fiery passion?

Will do what I can with what I have, then flag it for their attention. They must have some of these things lying around somewhere.

*wishes they had used referencing software like normal people*

wait. hang on. You are AGAIN working somewhere sans referencing software? Are you drawn to these places like a lemming to the edge of a cliff?

;)

In a word: End. Note. You know how to sell it to them ;)

Hey, *I* have EndNote. And I use it. And I said "Why didn't you use EndNote for this?" And they said "You know, I really wish we had, but it's too late now, and anyway it doesn't do APA style very well."

And then I knew that I was Doomed.

Oh. dear. God.

*Hands R crunchies for horses of the 4 horseman of the apocolypse*

You might as well enjoy some equine snuffles if that's the case!

Beau says hi! by the way. Mom was going to let him out in the field today (We've kept him in to let his leg heal) and he flew out and then stopped, standing on 3 legs. He's ok, but needs to not be a silly boy while he heals fully! :).

My sole consolation at present is truncating ridiculously long lists of authors to three plus an "et al." I know, it's sad. I'm getting out of here.

*huggles Beau*
